 Luk-Pra-Kob: Thai Herbal Compresses   
Luk-pra-kob....Explore the wonderful healing qualities of herbs used in traditional thai medicine. Smell, see, touch, and prepare fresh and dried herbs into a cloth poultice for steaming. Apply the warm compress during a simple massage.
Use for yourself and your family, table massage clients, or add to your thai practice. Reduces congestion and muscular aches and pains and more. Wonderful in cold weather!

Introduction: Thai-Yoga Massage for Floor or Table

for massage therapists
Learn great techniques of yoga-like stretching combined with acupressure and compression for a 30-minute relaxing and therapeutic session, which can easily be done on the massage table or traditional floor mat. Take this as a first step to get you started before the Level I&II class in April.

Level I: Condensed Front Position
                    
Learn a condensed 60-minute northern-style thai massage treatment working major muscle groups of the front of the body with the client supine. Covers a lot of material. Take this class as a first step or stand-alone session. All work done of a floor mat

Level I & II Condensed Training: Front/Side/Back Positions
over two weekends

Covers about half as many of the traditional moves as in a full Level I and Level II class, but provides a quick, effective 90-min protocol with the client prone, side-lying OR supine, and seated. All work is done traditionally on a floor mat. Moves at a fast pace. You will need to practice extensively to become proficient.     
NO prerequisites, but a previous Introduction class is very helpful

one day every two weeks over the summer

Covers about half as many of the traditional moves as in a full Level I and Level II class, but provides a quick, effective 90-min protocol with the client prone, side-lying OR supine, and seated. All work is done traditionally on a floor mat. Offered every other Sunday (bi-weekly) over the summer for five days at the NJ shore.  Moves at  a more comfortable pace to allow time to integrate and practice the material.

Level II: Side Position
Continue (or Review) your thai massage training with a weekend spent just on SIDE Position. Learn to work the legs, hips, back, shoulders and arms from a new and comfortable perspective. Moves at a quick pace but suitable for beginning or experienced thai therapists.

Level II: Back Position
Spend the weekend spent just on BACK Position. Address the legs, pelvis, back and shoulders in a very comprehensive routine with the client prone. Moves at a quick pace but suitable for beginning or experienced thai therapists.

Level II: Sitting Position
Sitting Position can be challenging to do well as you learn to balance your own body while supporting and stretching the client. Spend the weekend just on SITTING Position, either as a Review or for the first time. Address the neck, shoulders and back with a variety of effective stretches. Moves at a quick pace but suitable for beginning or experienced thai therapists to continue or Review.

REVIEW of Level I & II: Front/Side/Back/Sitting Positions
A day to review/refresh/correct/learn new movements & variations of the traditional northern-style Front Position. Followed by a day for Level II: Side/Back/Sitting Positions. Give and receive and invigorate your practice.
Come for one or both days.

Prerequisites: Level I and /or Level II classes with ITM or similar

ADVANCED WORKSHOPS
The classes below (other than 'Sen Therapy-Overview' which is open to a broader group of students) are geared toward therapists already practicing thai massage, with a background from any traditional lineage or school of teaching (such as ITM, The Old Medicine Hospital, Two Souls, Thai Institute, Lotus Palm, Zen Thai, Pichest, Sunshine School, Asokananda, etc). The student is expected to have a comfortable working knowledge of a basic floor routine. Day of More Moves
A day playing with new movements and different variations from a range of thai massage styles, including advanced techniques and more 'yang' forms. Co-taught with Al Turner II of Two Souls Thai Massage in NYC.  Come play with other therapists who love this work!

Level III: Advanced Sen Therapy, Step 1-Overview
In this Overview, learn where and what the 10 major Sen energy lines are, exploring their location and qualities in depth, with a comparison to western medicine and other eastern classification systems.
NOTE: this class is not hands-on massage, but focuses on theory with creative experiential learning, as you investigate the Sen lines as your basis for subsequent Advanced hands-on classes (below).
NO prerequisites, although this class is geared toward thai and other eastern style massage therapists

Level III: Advanced Sen Therapy, working the hara with Sen Sumana
A class for the serious student wanting to work with the Sen energy system, particularly on points within the abdomen. Sen Sumana focuses on treating the hara, which is essential for addressing imbalance in the body and is the foundation for other Advanced Sen therapies. It is recommended to take the Overview followed by this class before progressing to the other Sen classes.

An incredible class for the thai massage therapist ready to take their practice to a deeper level. Learn a highly therapeutic one-hour routine to address Sen Sahatsarangsi/Thawari, treating the legs, front of the body, and pelvic girdle with effective techniques, including new stretches and variations of the basic routine. It is recommended to take this class anytime after the Overview.
