Level II: Side Position

  • Body In Mind Massage Institute Toms River, NJ (map)

Continue (or Review) your thai massage training with a day devoted to SIDE Position.

This class builds on your existing thai massage skills and adds a wonderful, short routine in Side Position.

Side-Lying is an effective way to work on the hips, shoulders, and back while the client is comfortably bolstered and supported. It also provides a position to use for clients who are not comfortable or able to lay on their back for too long.

Clients love receiving in Side Position, and it contains both gentle and deep techniques.

Students can choose to work on a floor mat or massage table

Suitable for ANY level thai massage therapist.

Let gravity do the work for you with Side Position!

PREREQUISITES: the more you know already, the more you'll get out of class, but thai massage therapists of any level are welcome. This class is designed for therapists who already practice some thai massage and have taken a basic thai massage course, that want to learn new techniques in side-lying position. You should know the basic techniques of thai massage and how to use your body effectively. The minimum prerequisite is completion of at least a 1-day introduction to thai massage class with a qualified instructor.

Have fun, earn CEs, meet other therapists, learn new skills to enliven your practice, and receive great work!

8CEs, $150 if registered Early Bird by Oct 26; $175 after.

Workbook included. Videos are available for sale.

We move QUICKLY in this class but comprehensively. You will be led through the techniques with clear instructions and demonstrations, with lots of multi-discipline teaching and hands-on practice.

You'll get the most out of the class if you review your thai massage techniques beforehand, but if you're a little rusty, come anyway.

BRING- mat or table, sheet, pillow, a clean body, and clothes to layer if you get warm or cool while giving or receiving. Dress in loose comfortable clothing and have clean feet. Eat lightly before class, as many of the movements compress the abdomen. Bring lunch or eat nearby.

Class is approved for 7 education credits by NCBTMB (#152830) and THAI (#1064) and AMTA.
